Jesterperk Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 Hello All, Need some help here please as we have a number of bizarre issues with the instrumentation. 1. We have the hazard warning lights flashing intermittently while driving, and this can be rectified only by turning on the rear and front screen heaters. 2. We also have the temperature gauge fluctuating between the 90 degree normal position and then to hot and then back to normal in a minute and a half. 3. the electric windows sometimes function and sometimes don't. 4. I keep getting the check brake pads warning and there doesn't appear to be any fault with them - no broken wire or anything. 5. I get the handbrake engaged warning light and audible tone even though the handbrake is definitely disengaged. It is driving me mad and takes forever to stop warbling at me. Can anyone give me any good places to start checking for wiring issues as I am pretty sure I have a loom fault here and secondly does anyone know which fuse stops the audible warning noise from the handbrake engaged warning please! gregers Posted September 21, 2011 Report Posted September 21, 2011 do your brake lights work,if not it may be the dreaded brake light switch this can cause all sorts of wierd problems. Quote

chrispb123456 Posted September 23, 2011 Report Posted September 23, 2011 Check for broken chafing and shorting wiring firstly in the drivers door wiring gaiter, then the tailgate gaiter. You will probably need to cut out and resolder in new lengths of wire, this is a common fault now with the ageing galaxy Quote
