Hi, my 05 115bhp TD is becoming a pig to start. It ususally takes a fair bit of cranking first thing in the morning. Once its hot about half the time it fires on the first turn, however if I stop and then re-start pretty quickly it doesn't want to know. I then have to crank it for what seems like forever, or leave it about ten minutes, then it fires first time again.

Does this sound like a relay on its way?

Cheers

Hi I'd be thinking more along the lines of fuel problems, does it smoke when it does start as if it's burning of the excess fuel or does it start normally?

The thought being and air leak causing the fuel to run back to the tank

Your poor cold starting sounds like the water temp sensor problem that I experienced, see full details in the item "Please help Galaxy 1.9Tdi and Starting Problems". Check the water temp sensor and connector and all 4 wires to it!
