dannyf404 Posted August 11, 2011 Report Posted August 11, 2011 Hi there, ive got a problem with my 1998 seat alhambra 2 litre petrol, it sounds like it is misfiring or blowing when idling. Ive changed the plugs and plug leads, changed the air filter and done an oil and filter change. Ive also had the exhaust checked of which there was no problem. Ive been told it could be the air flow meter which i was quoted 250 pounds to replace. Does this sound about right? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Quote

Thank you Hi danny, welcome to the forum, There's a couple of things to check. Air hose to brake servo isn't detached or pipe has hole check all rubber pipes for holes from manifold. Your timing out !....advance and retardation although electronic it adjusted by undoing the 13mm bolt holding the distributer so its loose enough to move but tight enough to remain in posistion when moved . 2 ways to adjust ,both ways you have phyiscally turn or advance .by sound .....or by using vag com software 4.09 (other versions don't give recommended settings in display) .when doing by software select engine then block 7 iirc and then select parimiters .
