My 2002 Ford Galaxy stopped blowing air on positions 1 and 2 of the bower switch, which indicates to me that the heater resistor is gone.

I pulled out the resistor and checked the resistor readings, it shows resistance between (1 and 4) and (2 and 3) but did not register any resistance between (1 and 2) or (1 and 3) or (2 and 4) or (3 and 4).

When position 1 and 2 are turned on the A/C light turns on with no blower function and outer fan on radiator runs.

When positions 3 and 4 are turned on the A/C light disengages and will not manually turn on but the blower runs on 3 and 4.

I presume the A/C not working is tied into the Heater element which I would not have expected, or else their maby an underlying problem with the manual heater control panel?

I have ordered up the heater resistor and hope it sorts it out.

The heater resistor came in today and I had resistor readings between pins 1 and 2, 1 and 3, and 1 and 4.

It was the cause of the problem, was not expecting it to take out the A/C operation though.

Hi i have the same problem on my mk2 54 plate.

Could you give me a link and the parts number for the heater resistor?

Just to check where does this part go?

Thanks in advance :D
