Hi i have a 51 plate Galaxy TDI 90 my problem is the key fob key has stopped working the ignition,

But the engine runs albeit on lower power on the get you home key ie the plain key and the black plastic,

On the diagnostics it shows the immobiliser is active ie immobilised,

should this reduce the power and how do i get the main key fob to work the ignition again ie turn the immobiliser off.. any advice would be helpfull the key fob still works the central locking etc

Hi and welcome to the forum

Sounds to me like you have at least two problems.

 

1. Have you opened the key to replace battery's recently because it sound like the PATS chip has fell out, this causes the engine to run only for a few seconds.

2. Car going into limp mode, could be a number of reasons for this, but wont be caused by the key, if you have lost the chip you need to find it or will prove very expensive.

Do a search for limp mode there's lots of info on what it may be.
