Hi all, newby here, Has anyone had any trouble with the auxiliary fuse box, the climate control doesnt seem to blow cold air anymore, have had it re-gased and they said it sound like when you switch it on the compressor isnt cutting in, have checked the fuse box the the top wires [black coming up from behind the headlamp poss from alty] and [red from the battery] seem to be getting hot and there are signs of the plastic box melting. does anyone know anything about this?

Many thanks in advance.

Common problem. If you do a search I think you'll find its due to a bad crimp on the heavy wire from the alternator. New box (around

Hi and welcome to the forum

As said it is a common fault, depending on how bad the melting is and the condition of the terminals you could solder the terminals on if your handy but you would need to use a blow lamp with a small nozzle.

Ok new auxiliary fusebox fitted and new ends soldered on to clean wires hopefully that is cured now, think it had just started to go faulty as everything was still working except climate control, anyone have any ideas on this, have had it re gassed it appears that the compressor isn't cutting in have checked all the fuses anyone know the best or procedure for checking it out.

Many thanks.

Hi

Does your outside temperature show in the display and on the instrument cluster and are the cooling fans on radiator running when display shows auto?

Thanks for the reply, have just checked, yes both the temp on the climate control unit and on the clocks are working both saying the same temp 20 degrees but I can only see 1 cooling fan between rad and engine but it's not working.
