chrispb123456 Posted June 12, 2011 Report Posted June 12, 2011 Have you cleared this code before and it's come back again?Try removing it from car and spraying it with a switch/contact cleaner solvent then let it air dry, don't physically touch the sensor as they are quite delicate.Do you notice any difference running with it connected or disconnected. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/16485/P0101/000257 Quote

The date code stamped into the MAF is 10/2001 so its an original part fitted to the car when built i assume, will the age contribute to it failing? Driving with it in is next to impossible no power and it won`t rev more than 2000 rpm. Will driving with it unplugged do any damage? Also are the aftermarket MAFs any good? as theres plenty to chose from and they are a lot cheaper than the bosch units. thanks craig :) Edited June 13, 2011 by redders74 Quote
chrispb123456 Posted June 13, 2011 Report Posted June 13, 2011 Don't think you have any option but to change it, would avoid the cheap Ebay ones mine ended up worse although did get my money back.Running with it disconnected wont damage the system but may register a code.I got a genuine reconditioned bosch one from my local factors ( Quote
