pipes Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 Hi all. looks like ive got a problem with a faulty wiring loom to N01 injector. Had the car scanned this morning and it had numerous codes all relating to that injector. Rang a local diesel specialist and was told that my intermittent misfire sounded like it was probably faulty wiring that was to blame as the wires run in the rocker cover and can fail. So i rang the local Ford main dealer to get a price on a new loom section for the injectors. He told me it comes as part of ther main engine harness and was mega bucks :) . Any body know different ? The car is a Gal 1.9 tdi 90 ps . 2004 Cheers Quote
roy202 Posted June 9, 2011 Report Posted June 9, 2011 hi yeah the loom comes as a seperate loom that you can plug in , if you look at the front right hand side of the head you will see where the main loom attaches to the one in the head, it is the one in the head thsat you need to replace, you will need to remove the exhaust manifold to get to the bolts on the back of the rocker cover off, and its pretty easy to change once the rocker cover is off.from memory it was about Quote
pipes Posted June 11, 2011 Author Report Posted June 11, 2011 Thanks for that. I will move on with it. I dont think the guy in Frauds could be bothered to look. Cheers Quote
ghr Posted June 11, 2011 Report Posted June 11, 2011 VW Part Number: 038971600 Description: WIRING HARNE*M EAI Not sure where to find the engine code but it's a 1.9Tdi 115 ps (MkII 2002). I think being in the hot oil may change the wire/insulation over time as the wires in the old one seemed harder. Maybe my imagination. Have to say this forum gives you the confidence to have a go yourself and has saved me hundreds of quid since I joined. Quote

pipes Posted July 17, 2011 Author Report Posted July 17, 2011 Hi all . Just a quick note to say i eventually got a loom from Fords and fitted it a couple of weeks ago. All seems fine now. The job was ok and i didnt remove the egr either.I loosened the two horrible bolts on the back and turned them out with the smallest most crap socket i could find with a little piece of petrol pipe taped to it. Thanks for the replies. Cheers Quote

Pineappleman Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 I will be changing one of these looms very soon. I have the part from a VW dealer who will give it a 2 year unlimited warranty even with it going on a Galaxy they just wont include labour. All in £52.55 usual price from them is £58.39. Just wish me luck changing it lol. Quote
