chrispb123456 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Just looked on mine looking in through gap in the wheel it fits in the gap in the top centre of the caliper. Quote
bigdave982 Posted June 1, 2011 Author Report Posted June 1, 2011 Cheers chris,so it looks like it doesnt do anything.useful!the other side hasnt got one at all. Thought it might hod wear sensors.in or something Quote
Bigjeeze Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Just looked on mine looking in through gap in the wheel it fits in the gap in the top centre of the caliper. I think it's the anti chatter spring for the caliper - Fits between the pads. My copy of the ford TIS disc has died so I can't check! Quote
mumof4 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Your right BJ, that is what it is for, one of my callipers had to be replaced for the MOT, the bit left over is an anti squeal thingymebob...wont stop the brakes from working.. nay crucial but i guess it was put there for a reason. Quote
bigdave982 Posted June 1, 2011 Author Report Posted June 1, 2011 I see on top off the caliper2 slotsgrooves that it would fit in luvverly, but it would do nothing there!is there anywhere i can get a piccy of how it should look? Quote
chrispb123456 Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 Hi BigDave According to the Ekta catalogue it's called a wiring conduit, which makes me think it's a guide for the wear indicator wire as mines only got it on that side.Hope you can see from the photo.I dont recall mine coming out when I changed my discs and pads but there's only one on the drivers side. niallsan Posted June 26, 2011 Report Posted June 26, 2011 HiIt's just there to clip over the pad wear sensor wire and keep it held down. Niall Quote
