Have also followed on here and cleaned MAF sensor with carb cleaner.other issue is below wiper bulkhead is some unit with vac pipes that leaks air for a few seconds when engine turns off ? cant find any corroded pipes or exact place where air coming from.any ideas? majordamage069 Posted May 27, 2011 Author Report Posted May 27, 2011 come on people, my grandson want go out this bank holiday so got saturday morning to take a look at it  Am i looking at a blocked cat or compresion test? Quote
chrispb123456 Posted May 27, 2011 Report Posted May 27, 2011 Check out the ends of large vacuum pipe to brake servo, the pipe may be split where it connects, this can also effect engine performance. Quote
majordamage069 Posted June 3, 2011 Author Report Posted June 3, 2011 After a week or two of head scratching and checking of pipes for air leaks and checking sensors ,nothing showing on vag that i could read into. i re-looked at the MAF sensor and used a cotton bud dipped in carb cleaner and ever so gently cleaned the sensors inside it. i now have smooth acceleration in all gears. (sigh) now i discover i have a leaking radiator. Another weekend not going to north wales lol. Quote
bfc1001 Posted June 3, 2011 Report Posted June 3, 2011 had a leak on my 98 2.3 galaxy and bought a tub of leak seal and it sorted it out straight away . should work if its just a small hole . just make sure u get a good make , not one of the cheaper ones. Quote
