as regards my countless other posts regarding my freebie galaxy I was left with 3 problems:-

1. Temp gauge was fluctuating badly

2. Speedo was non existent

3. Nothing happening from the turbo AT ALL

Well I have now sorted the temperature gauge and the speedo. These were down to the multiplug not quite being fully attached. Am now left with just the turbo problem. I have replaced all vac pipes to turbo and egr, and have come across diagrams for 3 different ways for all the associated pipework to be connected. My last attempt I seem to get some expansion from the manifold rubber pipe but only a little when at around 4000rpm. Checked wastegate actuator on turbo which is closed but think it's seized closed. So my next angle of attack is to unseize turbo wastegate actuator and remove the egr and give that a good clean. Apart from that I'm lost. I'm thinking I may have to give to a mechanic to check over all pipework vac hoses as my head is now spinning. Fun and games!

Ok doing some live reading output tests of the car idling. It says on vcds lite Maf specified readings should be between 240-340 it's reading around 240 but looking at Maf actual readings again it says should be between 240-340 and I'm getting anywhere between 505 and 520 mg/str would that be down to vacuum pipes fitted wrong is it that a proper goosed Maf sensor? Thanks. Andy

You need to try a known good MAF sensor - and make sure its the right one for your engine.

Hi Andy

Seatkid has a point about being the right one, as you have changed your engine to a different model code, although I would have thought it would need to match the engine ECU.

Try removing MAF and spray the sensor with switch cleaner then let it air dry see if that changes the readings before condeming MAF.

Ok going back tothe turbo/vac pipes I have to 1 that comes out by the brake servo, and another the other side of the bulkhead can anyone tell me what these are and where they go in relation with the pipework as they don't seem to correspond with the diagrams you guys have posted up?

Are you saying the brake servo has more than the large single pipe going to the vacuum pump? and the other pipe going through bulkhead into car (throttle pedal area) to the engine ECU

Hi chris, no what I'm saying is I got the big black servo pipe that runs from the brake servo round the block past the diesel filter and round front of engine with the two outlets on it. But I also have a hose coming from behind the servo somewhere, and another pipe opposite side coming out of bulkhead near passenger footwell behind coolant resevoir. This pipe is a small thin black plastic pipe with another piece of vacuum hose attached to the end of it. Both in the engine bay.

Hi Andy

The one behind the servo/pedals area could be the turbo pressure supply pipe this would connect straight to the inlet manifold from the engine ECU.

The plastic pipe on passenger side sounds like the supply from the screen washer bottle to the tail gate, this runs along passenger side floor
