andytaxi Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 car broke down last week was losing power then stopped, was connection corroded on in tank pump.repaired and running again, was also oil in fuel filter, repaced filter clear now.butnow car is not running right, lack of power, cant keep in 6th gear on a roads have to keep changing down gear, also on motorway struggles to pull away when doing 70.not a massive power loss feels like driving up hill all the while.also brakes seem to be not working correctly, need more pressure than before
chrispb123456 Posted May 15, 2011 Report Posted May 15, 2011 Sounds like your losing vacuum, start by checking the large pipe on the vacuum pump next to fuel filter, there is also a T connector where the supply for the N75 and associated pipework starts, the large pipe then goes round to the brake servo, check that connector has not split
