Hitman Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 Hello Sorry to register and post in my time of need but i hope someone with some experience can help. A while back i had to replace the drive shaft of my X reg Galaxy once i got it back i noticed the ABS light was constantly on and was advised it would go away. Till now it still remains on. To make matters worse since having an accident a few years back on the same side as the replaced drive shaft the hand brake light come on (mostly when the road surface is wet) and beeps sometimes constantly which is so annoying. Does anybody know what maybe the causing these problems? Thanks H Quote
cprob Posted May 13, 2011 Report Posted May 13, 2011 (edited) Whan my ABS light was on it turned out to be a broken reluctor ring ... which of course is on the driveshaft. Worth a quick check. As for the handbrake light, I would imagine it would be a dodgy switch. Should be quite simple to trace and fix whatever it is. Edited May 13, 2011 by cprob Quote

Have you checked the brake fluid level and the connection to the brake level fluid sensor (on the cap of the brake fluid reservoir)? Quote

Thanks HPossibly ABS sensor or wiring damaged when driveshaft was replaced, could be checked by using Vagcom will pinpoint which wheel is causing problem. Also ABS light on continuous is an MOT failure Quote
