welshie Posted May 6, 2011 Report Posted May 6, 2011 The clutch on our Galaxy (p Reg) has just been replaced and after out friend fitted it and tried starting the car, the immobiliser kicks in around 2 seconds after turning the ignition!!I honestly have no idea about cars and my friend has tried everything he can think of to fix it!!Have been stuck without a car for 2 weeks now and with 4 kids its been a nightmare!!Any help is very much appreciated :) Quote

Disconnecting the main battery doesnt affect the immobiliser. The usual problem is someone opens the key to change batteries (or sometimes they just come apart) and the PATS chip, which is just wedged inside the blade end falls out. Its so small most people don't notice it. But without it its impossible to start the engine apart from the 2 sec period before the immobiliser shuts the engine down. Try another key...... Quote

U1451 here -> "Invalid or Missing Data for Function Read Audible Warnings" Likely a data bus is broken/disconnected and data isnt accessible Check all the wiring loom connections in the engine, did he disconnect anything when he lowered the gearbox? bigtee Posted June 1, 2011 Report Posted June 1, 2011 hi just read your post it might be nothing but when the gearbox was out there is a sensor at the front of the engine right at the bottom it is the crankshaft sensor it has a small black wire connected just make sure the sensor is fully home because the engine will not start if not good luck Quote
