alay111 Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 Having just purchased a Galaxy 2000 V6, it came with no handbook so until I hunt one down I need to post here (unless someone knows of an online edition?). The aircon isn't working, when the temp is set to low it still blows tepid air. Before I have it regassed I need to make sure I am doing everything else correct. When testing it I can't hear the compressor kick in nor does any light come up on the console (I assume the EC switch is used to turn the aircon on and off?). Can someone confirm to me how the aircon works and which fuses I need to check as I have read previous posts where a fuse replacement fixed the problem in the aircon? Thanks in advance for any help. edatelder Posted April 10, 2011 Report Posted April 10, 2011 I believe that if the gas is low pressure, the compressor will not kick in. Usually nothing "lights up" to say it's working - just "AUTO" on the climate contral display screen Quote

Thanks in advance for any help.HiThe air con system fitted on these vehicles unfortunately suffer from corroded/leaky pipe work and leaky drier receiver, if all the gas has leaked away a three way pressure switch will disable the compressor preventing damage to it. I personally recommend you use a mobile specialist who will come to you and do a full check on the system before replacing the expensive gas.The Quick pop in places are OK providing you dont have any leaks or electrical/mechanical problems. If you have the climatronic control then the system should be on when AUTO is displayed and off when ECON displayed, if you have manual controls there is an AC switch below the three circular knobs this also lights up when on.
