cossiedaz Posted March 11, 2011 Report Posted March 11, 2011 Hi my name is Darren. Im 32, married and have a boat load of kids. Just bought a 2001 Galaxy 2.3 auto ghia petrol non runner (allegedly immobiliser fault). I bought it cheap to replace a gas guzzling chrysler voyager which I lost a lot of money on, not to mention the 5mpg. I found this site through searching for answers to the non start galaxy problems, and I must say im very impressed. The knowledge level of people posting through this site seems to be very high. My gal http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v210/cossiedaz/IMG_0366.jpg not very clean yet, but fresh off the recovery truck. Symptoms: No door led flashes, ignition is on, fuel pump is making noise, does not crank on final key turn, starter has been directly tested. After reading a truck load of threads on this forum I have virtually got most bases covered in regards solutions, I do have a grey area or 2 though. Possible fixes: Inhibitor switch (likely), earth or bad wiring in starter circuit (likely), relay 27/30 (not sure, some seem to say this is a fuel pump relay and others say its a power circuit), fuse 26 / relay 26 (not sure again) Ive assumed that due to the fact the car does not turn over at all, this eliminates the transponder worry as most say that a PATS fault will still let the car turn over for a few seconds, I did check the key fob for the chip too. If anyone could spare a few mins, I would like to know the exact purpose of the said relays, if not dont worry ill be giving it some testing tomorrow. Id like to say thank you to all the people who have posted on this subject in the past in faqs and technical. You have probably saved me 120 pounds on having a key reprogrammer out for no reason, which I would have done but for stumbling across this site and spending a few hours reading :) keep up the good work. cossiedaz Posted March 12, 2011 Author Report Posted March 12, 2011 The relay being changed did not fix it. Think im gonna get some 3rd party assistance, bad back limits what I can do. Quote
