It's this one here (or a slightly earlier version but from the same company)........ http://www.diesel-performance.co.uk/systems_available.php?id=1869 What does thus do to my car? If it is supposed to increase the BHP then it doesn't really feel like it. My Sharan is only a 90 bhp and it certainly drives like a 90 BHP. How could I tell if the tuning chip is still working? The tuning chip as well has a small adjuster on it which can be turned using a flat head screw driver. What does this do? What would happen if I stared fiddling with it? I plan to tow a caravan so it would be good if i could increase the BHP / Torque just for towing! Quote

It will be illegal to modify a manufacturers control unit and engine as this contravenes the certification of the vehicle. Quote

Sorry but you are talking through your pants, how can they fail on something that is legal ? admitting if the emissions are out and find the causeis the box then yes it will be a fail, but just because they spot a box ! Any way how does a MOT person know what one is (or for that mater qualified to say) I have a small box under my bonnet that to someone who does not know about electronics would poss say it is a tuning box bit it has nothing to do with tuning. and what are they going to do with cars that have had the internal ecu's re chipped, are they going to interrogate the CPU's with a computer to seewhat BHP a car is putting out (I don't think so) And you mention about HID's they have been saying that for years and I have never heard of a car with after market lamps being failed. As I see it it just a load of scaremongering from people who have nothing better to do or are jealous of people who can have these bits on the car. Radiotwo Quote

FLENG Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 i heard the tuning box's are not very economical i heard that it tricks the engine to think it needs more fuel than it actually needs ive read alot about re maps on the vw forums and the guaranteed fuel improvement or your money back plus an extra 30 horses and come with a lifetime warranty, some even come with a rolling road test print out... cant go wrong Quote
zorgman Posted April 22, 2011 Report Posted April 22, 2011 my god thats a lot of money for a multiturn pot, all it is, is a evry mod that tricks the pump to think that its cold so pumps in more fuel. I use one on my car (evry mod) with bigger nozzles and by god you know its working when its switched in but when on song the black smoke is well over the top as my rear door is covered in carbon.Now to all you disbelievers it works spot on the car runs sweet as a nut and ive had it on for 3 years but mines switchable on and off the amount of chav cars ive wasted makes up for the bit extra fuel i use when i scream pass them then choke them with fumes.yeah at long last get red of aftermarket hid's there a bloody nuisance blinding everybody as theres no beam pattern just a glare.
