jedi Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Hi All This is my first visit and posting on site. Hope someone can give me some advise. The interior windows of my Galaxy 2002 1.9 tdi steam up excessively and will not clear despite setting the blower/ECON/AUTO in diferent ways??? Quote
marinabrid Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 try changing the pollen filter our car got the same and a new filter seemed to help a lot.also do use the aircon as this removes the moisture from the air Quote
sotal Posted December 28, 2010 Report Posted December 28, 2010 Check under the front seats for water, if it's steaming up a lot then you normally have a leak. The most common places are the footwells, and the pipe for the rear washer pops off when it freezes then floods under the passenger seat. Quote

I'm going to have a look at this tomorrow...perhaps the two problems are linked!?! thanks! Quote

Found the rear washer pipe under grey plastic trim right at passenger door edge...it WAS disconnected! Re-connected, with cable ties to hopefully 'hold' it. Newspapers under sound-deadening to soak up old moisture from the leak....hopefully no more steaming up! Thanks again! :) Quote
Jayton Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 I use Rainx antifog because my car does mist up badly when I've got a car full of people, it has cured my misting problems to no end! :) It's usually fine when it's just me in the car to/from work. Quote

daddyfixit Posted August 25, 2011 Report Posted August 25, 2011 allow a couple of hours to do the pollen filter; 1. while you are there you can get at the brake fluid to check level properly !!! in fact i done my fluid change as it was overdue anyway.2. clean out the tops of the suspensiom mountings, i filled them with wd40 or engine oil-----in case they ever need to come off.
