jdsam Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Hi there. Im new and hoping someone can help. I recently purchased a 52 plate Ford Galaxy.A brand new turbo was put on it before I was given it as it went on the test drive. At first it drove really well and then all of a sudden it started losing power and the turbo never kicked in. Took it back to the garage it was purchased from and they replaced the turbo again. It was like a brand new car when I got it back. The power and speed in it was excellent. I have had it back now just over 2 weeks and the turbo has stopped kicking in again. Also it was put on diagnostics test and showed no faults. Has anyone got any advice on what to do next. The garage is a nightmare to deal with and there is only a couple of weeks warranty left on it. Any help is much appreciated. Quote
Caff Posted December 7, 2010 Report Posted December 7, 2010 Hi. Welcome to the Forum, a brilliant place for help and advice. My thoughts would be to suggest that you have a talk with your local Trading Standards Officer. This car looks like it could give you some grief. I personally would take it back to the garage and ask for my money back and tell them it's not fit for purpose or whatever the correct legal phrase is. The TSO would tell you your rights and the correct terms to use so that you go go armed as it were. All the best...Caff Quote

zorgman Posted December 29, 2010 Report Posted December 29, 2010 nope not the poor innocent maf the cars going into overboost check all your vacuum pipework. lots of people blame the maf and easy test is unplug it and see if any power diff if there is then is working, also only buy a bosch unit or the exact unit on car dont bother with ebay chinese copys. by cycling the ign it proves its overboost Quote
