Turbo Cuts Out

Hi can any one help turbo keeps triping out diagnostic said turbo boost pressure limit exeeded and was told i needed a new turbo i payed

Welcome to the site

While yo was having turbo changed do you know if they have cleaned the EGR valve? it gets clogged up with oily soot that will restrict the airflow.

Take large airpipe off EGR and with the aid of a mirror look into the valve if it looks restricted with oily sooty carbon the the valve will need removing to dig out the mess, it's a very dirty job wear hand protection.

i have asked the guy who fitted the turbo today he said the EGR valve was fine and working as it should. any other ideas would be a great help

i assume they replaced all the hoses when they did the turbo? if not they should do!

Just to add, there are alot of small rubber hoses on the three valves hidden behind the heat sheild on the bulkhead these pipes do perish check them all carefully

hoses were cheacked and cleaned where nes the fitter is going to fit another turbo on sat thinking it is faulty but i'm not sure thats the problem

sounds to me like a faulty actuator or pipe to allowing to turbo to over boost ,

Had another turbo fitted on sat now done 90 miles so far all good although it sounds more like a super charger a lot of wooshing wistleing sound will see how it goes over next couple of days

Probably wont last long - its out of balance thats why it whistles.
