You wouldn't *have* to change the belt but you'll have to take it off and but it back on again. Personally I would change it but that's your choice - how many years ago was it changed?

it was changed june/07, or so it says in the service history that came with it when i bought it was going to change the pump myself as i woukd be confident enough to do this but i would leave the belt change to someone who can be held to account if somthing went wrong in the future like the local garage, can i assume that if i remove the belt if i mark it with tipex and fit it the same it will be ok ? dont want to do more damage than good to save a few quid. Hi there

When the belt was changed the first time was that just the belt, or the belt and pulley kit? if it was only the belt you should seriously think on changing pulleys and belt, just not worth chancing.

If your really confident about doing this by tippexing and getting belt tension correct thats fine, these are quite roomy to work on once all the covers and mounting is out the way and visibility is good, but if you have any doubt get local help.

hi i just had my water pump done at a local garage i also had the cambelt tentioners and pulleys replaced it cost me

June 07 was about 3 and a half years ago, IIRC they need replacing every 4 years so your cambelt is due for replacement in June (7 months away)

I would say it would be daft not to do the cambelt at the same time, if you are paying to have the cambelt changed it won't cost you much more to do the waterpump, they're only about
