George106 Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Hi, I have fitted independent Eberspacher programmable heating and after one 30 min cycle battery still starts the car but after two cycles voltage drops under 10.9V not enough for starting. Currently there is Motequip 105Ah battery however not sure about it's age as I have gal for one year. I found two very similar batteries which should fit in the tray and now need to decide which one.http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250648000498orhttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250713297621 ThanksGeorge Quote
chrispb123456 Posted November 5, 2010 Report Posted November 5, 2010 Hi George Sorry to hear your still having problems, have you had it tested? it may need a good charge minimum 48hrs. I can tell you that mine is the standard 72 amp/hr type 096 and touch wood has not let me down.Heater was used for 3 hrs spread over 24 hrs without an engine start in between, So to summarize your battery may be knackered or may just need a good charge, assuming alternator is charging correctly, of course having a larger battery will be more beneficial if it will fit the carrier. Battery should be charged fine as I do drive quite long distances at least once week. Actually this battery has not let me down either but with normal use in mild weather(not running heater). Because I didn't want to make life complicated and I didn't want to go the way of fitting whole auxiliary circuit with battery under the driver seat I need to invest in better battery instead. Current battery (don't have any idea how old this one is) was fitted by the dealer who sold gal to me as the previous one was dead and they had to start gal up every time with jump start pack.
