Hi,

I've recently bought an R reg Galaxy 2.8. Yesterday the wipers decided to stop working. I've tried to check the fuses, but can't access the fuse box - located below and to the right of the steering column. I can get the cover to open partiall, but not enough to remove or even check the fuses are properly located. Am I missing something obvious, or is it designed to be hard to access?

Hi and welcome to the site

I take it your talking about the clear plastic cover you cant get off? they can be a bugger to remove owing to restricted space, you may have to be brutal with it, have left mine off for years.

You may also want to check the wiper linkage in particular the 2 spindles that the wiper arms are attached to as they seize up.

Correct method would be to dismantle the linkage and clean up and re-grease spindle/housings, other members have drilled into the housings in situ and pumped penetrating oil and grease in that way, look in the FAQ section for more info.

Yes..those wiper spindles...Grrrr...I knew to be very carefull when trying to free the spindle from the cast Iron arm, but I still managed to break it!! So be very carefull...bought a second hand one online, replaced it and it all works perfectly now

Anyone help with picture of fuse box next to steering column. I need clear picture so can see how many fuses there should be and their exact location.

I have a quite a few fuses missing (not sure I that is way it should be) and a few things not working in my 1999 Galaxy 2.3 auto zetec.

Any assistance would be appreciated.
