duncannimmo Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 I have a 2000 Galaxy ghia, 2.3litre automatic petrol engine. The gears keep slipping which leads me to think the gear box oil is low but I don't know how to check it or top it up. Can anyone help? Quote
grayST24 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 I'll revive this thread as I too have this problem.. Want to check oil level but can't find the dipstickCan anyone help? Quote
chrispb123456 Posted March 15, 2011 Report Posted March 15, 2011 There is no dipstick for checking transmission fluid. There are filler, level, and drain plugs, position varies depending whether four or five speed you will also need vagcom to check the fluid temperature which needs to be between 35-45 deg c.There's more info in the FAQ's in the technical section Quote
grayST24 Posted March 16, 2011 Report Posted March 16, 2011 Thanks chris.. Did a bit more digging last night and found the answer I needed, Gearbox now topped up and working perfectly again Quote
