new nige Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 For those who had had trouble with vagcom on windows vista, you can download the latest ross tech VCDS lite from their website. Using a USB lead with serial converter built in this seems to work fine using the shareware (free version) for at least engine and abs modules including clearing error codes. On another note I have limp mode turbo trouble error code 00575 I am now thinking about MAP sensors, can anyone confirm a) this is different from the N75 sensor :) clarify the various terms used to describe it and [VW & ford seem to have different terms] c) advise where the bugger is on a mk1 AHU (cylindrical thing next to N75?) and d)if they think I am barking up the wrong tree. Frustrated Newnige Cheers Quote
chrispb123456 Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Hiiirc the map sensor on MK1 is in the ECU behind the dash. Quote
new nige Posted August 20, 2010 Author Report Posted August 20, 2010 cheers If vag com is saying 00575 intake manifold pressure either not reached, exceeded or control difference i assume its getting a manifold absolute pressure reading, as i have no specific MAP sensor error code can i assume the map sensor is OK? ianmoore28 Posted August 23, 2010 Report Posted August 23, 2010 Hi, I'm new here, not wanting to steal your thread, but..... out of interest will the USB diag leads found on ebay work with VAG-COM software? Or does it have to be a 'VAG-COM' lead? Ian Quote
MrT Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 Some work well on Vista and some do not. The leads which rely on the Prolific USB-serial convertor chip have a lot of data flow connection problems with some machines and work perfectly well on others. The other FTDI USB-Serial chipset based lead is far more stable. Windows7-x64 is even trickier and to get the older versions of VAG-COM to work you need to run it under WindowsXP virtualisation mode. new nige Posted August 24, 2010 Author Report Posted August 24, 2010 yep seen that chris, suspect it a leak in the hose to the map sensor gafa tape and it seems to go away, new hose should get here tomorrow which should sort 00575. This leaves me with 65535 which ross tech suggest could be the map sensor hose at the MCU end. I will see what happens when i replace the hose. cheers Quote
