Read several topics regarding blocking vac supply to EGR valve to help with fuel economy. I have a 1999 TDi 110, and thought I'd do this. Is the EGR valve the one at the back of the engine to the right of the turbo (looking from behind the engine) with one small pipe running off it and up to the bulk head?

Just fixed speedo from not working after reading threads on this site, so keep up the good work!!!!

am i right in saying all you need to do is cut and seal the one hose leading from the egr to the egr control solonoid? Do you seal both ends?

You do that aswell as putting a plate in between egr valve and pipe well thats what i did on my tdi Disco :)

think i found it is it a 32x34mm oval formed in nominal 2-3mm mild steel plate with 4.5-5mm holes, i believe you blank on the exhust manifold side can you confirm?

also if you blank the egr valve does this make the erg solinoid redundant as far as trouble shooting limp mode is concerned?
