jim_69 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 hello im interested in putting a set of audi rs6 alloys 19" , has anyone done this and do they fit without any modding . thank youpersonally i was under the impression theyre a straight swap but being 19 " u might want to check the clearance 1st, shouldnt be a problem as gals have quite abit of arch space Quote
chromedome Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Are 19" rim tyres available in extra load. May be worth a check as the Galaxy needs them. Quote
chrispb123456 Posted June 27, 2010 Report Posted June 27, 2010 Hi all Never been one for modding to bigger wheels and tyres, but surely this must have an effect on overall gear ratio, and what about the speedo that will need recalibrating to show correct speed and mileage, are speed sensors available for non standard wheel sizes? The wheel diameter gets bigger but the tyre profile is smaller, hence the combined wheel/tyre diameter stays the same and hence does not affect anything.Provided the wheel offset is the same the only concern regarding contact with the wheel arch would be if you were also lowering the suspension. matt1e Posted June 28, 2010 Report Posted June 28, 2010 This is the theory, but in practice you have to check the overall diamater is the same. I have the 17" wheels on rather than the 16" std and the tyre profile seat place on the rim required the speedo sensor to be swapped. There are many tyre to wheels size convertors to show what profile to have on a specific size rim to keep the rolling radius the same.http://www.performancetyresdirect.co.uk/converter/converter.html Regards,Matt Hi all Never been one for modding to bigger wheels and tyres, but surely this must have an effect on overall gear ratio, and what about the speedo that will need recalibrating to show correct speed and mileage, are speed sensors available for non standard wheel sizes?
