Relay 30 ?

hello have done the last hour reading about relay 30/27 . everybody says this is what stops car from starting , my question is does the car turn over when this fails or does it cut out everything ie no turning over . thanks

simple answer is yes but bit of a coincidence was it starting OK before engine change

started perfect upto no1 valve let go . second hand engine in all my aux parts pump etc . car will turn over with wire to starter but not from key. no fuel getting to the pump when cranking over . just wondered if this relay stops all the electric from key-starter and pump in tank

When the relay failed on my 1997 2.0l petrol galaxy it would just turn over.

Hitting the relay would help it to start.

I think it just stopped the fuel getting to the engine.

Have you looked at fuse 26 aswell
