Rear Sensors Do Not Turn Off When Out Of Gear

When I back up the sensors work perfect but don't turn off when I put gear into neutral. Is this normal? In my last car they shut off in neutral so I could remain parked next to the wall or whatever, with the engine running, without being whinned at!

always thought it was some kind of basic memory the control module had/has.

You can press the P switch on centre consol to cancel the warning, is also used to activate the system when approaching front sensors first

driving forwards at over 5mph??? switches them off, or the switch.. same as a mk 2

When edging up something in front, the front sensors wont kick in even when I press the switch. I have to engage reverse first, which lights the switch, and then re-engage first and move forward. Its a bit of a pain but I guess I have to live with it.

Thats not correct, sounds like a possible defective switch.
