chrispb123456 Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 check see whether the chip is still in the key they can fall out when you remove the push button Quote
a11mcr Posted April 26, 2010 Author Report Posted April 26, 2010 checked that everything works fine from both doors even the total closure of the windows but tried everything to get the remote to work :( Quote
big_kev Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 It is possible that the remote is faulty. Easiest way to check is with a known good remote, borrow a friends or obtain one. Ignore any issues about the PATS chip as this has nothing to do with the remote locking it only affects the anti theft system......ie works the ignition switch. Quote

a11mcr Posted April 27, 2010 Author Report Posted April 27, 2010 after more searching i have now found that the multiplug going into the control unit (the one with lots of wires) has got corrosion so i removed the wire cover and there 3 broken wires so maybe this could be the fault?is anyone on here breaking one and willing to cut bothe the plugs of for me ;) mark Quote
chrispb123456 Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 could be water been getting in down there in the past. or still.(common problem) You may find that relay is knackered but try the plugs first, maybe the wires could be soldered onto the relay if you cant get the plugs? Quote
