kebrina Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 I've got a 52 plate Galaxy ghia, for the same reason as you - I need three child seats. I have a three point seatbelt for the centre seat coming out of the ceiling and going three ways by itself (it plugs in to BOTH sides of the same seat.) You can remove any or all of the seats to suit. I generally have three in an L shape so I can get in easily to strap all the sprogs down. You'll not regret buying a Galaxy (unless you get a lemon). It's a cracking car and does everything I ask it to. I had all three kids in and a single divan bed the other day. Quote
stanstag Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Thanks for those replies. Very helpful. I never noticed anything hidden away in the ceiling! I'll have to look again! Quote
Mirez Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 The 3 Point belt for the middle seat was fitted in production from 15th Nov 2000 so late Y's and 51's on should have them! Quote
stanstag Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Aah that explains it as it was an X reg I looked at! While I'm here....how easy are the seats to remove? Do the 3rd row seats fold into the floor or do they have to be removed entirely to give the full boot space? Quote
Mirez Posted April 23, 2010 Report Posted April 23, 2010 No, Mk2's only remove not fold flat - you'll need a Mk3 for that but then whilst its more versitle you use more space and it costs more to run as you can't remove that extra weight. Mk2 seats just lift out, they are friggin heavy though and are require a knack to refitting :16: Quote
stanstag Posted April 23, 2010 Author Report Posted April 23, 2010 Excellent, thanks for that! What kinda price do you think I should be paying for a 2001/2002 2.8 Galaxy then? The X reg one I looked at today was Quote

alanfp Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 Look in Parkers , then use their prices as absolute maximums (or maxima for pedants). I've just bought a VW Sharan for 5% less than their guide price, whilst getting exactly what Parkers said for my part-ex. But if you really want one soon and have been looking for a while and it's in really good condition, don't risk losing it for a few quid. If you get one that's recently had a cam belt change, that's worth a few hundred more to you than one that's going to need one within a year. But do DOUBLE_CHECK service histories. In the last 3 yrs I've seen two forged ones - one completely bogus, the other used Tippex over the mileage! And I recently spoke to a dealer who was selling a 4 yr old car with 'FSH'....turned out it had one stamp in the book. And yes, you can remove the middle seat of the middle row. Good luck Quote
suzuki91 Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 are you sure you want the 2.8? they drink petrol sooo quickly. Quote
kebrina Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 are you sure you want the 2.8? they drink petrol sooo quickly. This is soooo true, but I'm impressed I've managed to wangle 23mpg out of mine on the school run, and it hit 35 on a long haul! Quote
