Please can anybody help?

I have a Ford Galaxy 1.9tdi mk3 which has developed an alternator workshop problem.

It has had the alternator replaced just over 12 months ago so I'm thinking it's not that. It has also had the fuse link box replaced around the same time.

New battery fitted about two months ago. I have thoroughly cleaned the terminals & connections etc just to be sure but this does not help either.

The problem starts in the morning or when the car is not warmed up. It constantly beeps with an error message on the dash 'alternator workshop'.

The problem is worse when accelerating quickly but I have found that if you ease up on the rev's it does not happen so often.

When the car is warmed up the problem goes away completely. I have thought perhaps the belt is slipping but was wondering if anyone has had any similar problems or knows how to fix the problem.

Any help would be gratefully received!

Thank you

Thank you for your reply RADIOTWO!

I had someone look at the belt and the tension yesterday. They have told me it's not slipping.

Many thanks

Hi When you had the Alternator replaced did it come with a new pulley or did they use the old one.

The Alternator pulley has a built in clutch they normaly fail at 80 to 90 thousand miles, cost around
