i have a galixy and when i turn the engine off im geting a loud noise coming from under the car it sounds like a industrial fan heater or a jumbo jet landing some times a slight burning smell

Auxilliary heater. There are hundreds of references to this on the forum.

 

It basically burns diesel when it's cold enough (below 10C) because the engine alone cannot generate enough heat for the passenger compartment.

hey youve got a working aux heater, makes a world of differnce use your rear heater for faster inside heat
