swampy Posted August 14, 2009 Author Report Posted August 14, 2009 Many thanks marinabrid, car has done 105k and no signs of a slipping clutch as of yet which is good. I really didn't notice how stiff it really was till we bought a new car and I nearly put the pedal through the floor as I pushed it down and expected it to be hard. Unless someone else comes up with a passable cause I think that I will leave it and see how things go. Regards Swampy Quote
zorgman Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 had my tdi for 2yrs now with hard clutch never had a problem yet and got a nice strong left leg.know what you mean getting into another car and pushing pedal thru floor Quote
marinabrid Posted January 10, 2010 Report Posted January 10, 2010 i think its a matter of luck, ours had a stiff pedal and it did 4 years before the day it started to slip, of course it slipped just as we were fully loaded with 2 adults 4 kids and a load of luggage. Quote
swampy Posted February 6, 2010 Author Report Posted February 6, 2010 Well 6 months later and it's still stiff and still going strong, probaly only done 1 1/2 k at the most in this time thou. Well my son asked me yesterday if it was ok for him and his workmates (all coppers so should be safe lol) could borrow the cae in April to do a cruise to France. Hmmm car has been good so far but France :D well i said ok provided he pays the extra for the RAC cover for Europe and if it brakes down its not my fault, well it is an old car. Watch this space..
