marinabrid Posted March 18, 2009 Report Posted March 18, 2009 there is reports on here somewhere that very good long lasting repairs can be made with the good old tie wrap, and another was to drill thru the ball and socket i think and pass some wire thru to secure it,save a lot of time, Quote
Bigjeeze Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Looky here http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?showtopic=16733 The answers to all your questions are here on the site - just search ...... Quote
familyman Posted March 20, 2009 Report Posted March 20, 2009 Sounds like the same problem i had with mine ,easy enough job to do ,just a sod to get to the cable ! go for a cable change if you can, sods law the repair will fail in the middle of nowhere, make sure the new cable ends are securely popped over the ball joints on the gear box levers as they can be a very tight fit, and give the impression of being on , only to pop off a few miles down the road-oh how i laughed! :angry2: Quote
