i have an 04 plate 1.9 tdi 130bhp galaxy and this is the second one ive had why do you need legs like a female russian shot putter or is there a way of getting a lighter clutch peddle as its a nightmare in traffic and worse for the wife as she has the car most of the time.

is it a high milage ? as they get over 100,000 usually they get heavier and heavier, we put new one in at 146,000 then it was a light as a feather

I have an 04 plate 1.9tdi 130bhp Galaxy too, and the clutch pedal is easy to use. Not sure of a quick fix, other than a clutch replacement, which could be costly. Maybe the clutch cable has stretched over time, or something around the pedal needs lubricating.

the car has done 70000 and the 52 plate i hade before this had done about the same but a 2.3 petrol mk1 65000 was very light on the clutch.

mines light too 132,000 miles

My clutch was hard to press at 103,000 and got worse until i finally changed it at 170,000. Then the clutch was as light as a feather i don't think it was about to go but i was getting the flywheel done so i thought that should be done too.
