mk2vr6 Posted September 5, 2008 Report Posted September 5, 2008 (edited) take a looksie here http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.ph...amp;#entry96038 and just how exactly would that help? from the op before i take this out is it a sealed unit as it looks as if dash dimmer is attached...one would think from that alone that the the op is talking about the switch on the dash and for your info the height adjustment switch is a seperate part that clips to the rear of the head light switch, it looks like you could split it open if you wished to see if you could repair it? rodders Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 "one would think from that alone that the the op is talking about the switch on the dash".......mk2vr6 that is correct i am talking about the one in the dash just to the side of headlight switch...the reason why im asking is before if i moved it to adjust lights the switch when turned you could feel very slight resistence ie like a cog sort of feeling now just rolls thats why im looking towards the switch in dash plus im still on shifts till monday so wont be able to look at it till then thats why im picking your brains first... MadBaz Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) The switch unit can be disassembled, getting the unit out of the dash is a bitch, best approached from fuse box below and the vent above, disconnect multi-plugs (3 iirc) then there is a slidy type thingy which releases the fascia. (or you can just prize the fascia out from the steering wheel side by sticking a chisel under it bit risky though) once out you can split the unit into separate parts (level adj, dimmer and switch) but it is a bit fiddly, cheaper than a full unit I guess, and you'd still have to get the unit out Edited September 6, 2008 by MadBaz Quote
rodders Posted September 6, 2008 Author Report Posted September 6, 2008 cheers for that ill have a look when i finish work & let you know ....ps thought it wouldn't be a little straight forward removal & replacement job nothing ever is on these buses... Quote
MadBaz Posted September 6, 2008 Report Posted September 6, 2008 (edited) Forget the above post by me, its a bit simpler than I thought.... Remove the vent above the switch Look into the hole You need to remove the multi plug on the right (brown and yellow/black wires) there are tabs top and bottom. Then there are tabs on the level switch (unit removed for clarity) squeeze and pull (oo err matron) Et Voila Numbers on mine are: 3AO 941 333A - 04 0507 61 or PA6 GF GB 30 Hope that helps Brian Edited September 6, 2008 by MadBaz Quote
