Aux Heater

hi all just spent about two days reading the threads on the aux heater quite a few people talked about a gasket set for said heater containing seals, bolts and gaskets phoned fords and v w both said there was no such kit do i have to contact the makers of the heater for this kit or does anybody know the part number of this elusive kit or any part numbers for this unit

Have had a quick look, and for the Mk1, Ford list nothing other than the complete heater assembly. For the Mk2, there is a kit-repair, part 1311390 at

It is in the body section, about half way down, "Additional Heater for coolant circuit D3W."

Willie, I had a 2001 Y reg state blue Galaxy Ghia manual with a faulty aux heater, whats part of the reg ?

done mine last year, go to vw agent and ask to look at the heater on pc u can see the 2 gaskts, when u do gaskts clean the lot up. hard here to give lots of info as typing while flatt on hospital bed
