Hi,

 

Just bought a fantastic LOOKING Galaxy...however I should I have taken a mechanic with me as I think their are many issues to resolve with the engine.

WIll find out tomorrow when my mechanic takes in for a look.

 

Can you point me in the right direction for parts (engine & interior) as it definately needs a new fuse box and Ford quoted me

Hi Daniel, welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear that you have problems already with your gal. Ford tend to be very expense when it comes to all parts and it pays to use someone like gsf (German swedish french). They are online and may have a store near you. They do quality parts without frauds cost ! Oil etc.... use the grade that ford suggest but you dont need to get it from them. also try seat and vw for your prices as they differ greatly between themselves.as the cars are pretty much the same.

ALso whilst driving home I noticed a whining sound was not constant but kept coming and going at varying decibels....any ideas.

Thanks for all the help! I got my mechanic to take a look this afternoon and he says that a good service replacing all fluids, plugs filters etc should make this a good motor as the fuse box can be replaced later (which i have chased the trader who sold it to me to replace who seems quite amiable...we shall see).

did you buy it,sold as seen???if not iirc the dealer is obliged to carry out any repairs under the sale of goods act,i think dealers have to give a minimum of 28 days warranty on any cars they sell?.
