Hi Will my 04 auto be ok to tow with, my van is 1750kg, can you fit an oil cooler to the auto box is there any need??

Welcome to the insane world of the galaxy & ex-galaxy owners. Your gal should be perfect for towing. If that is the kerbweight then rule of thumb you would be able to tow 85% of it safely. I have been told to take mine to a weigh bridge and weigh it empty (except fuel) then work it out from there.

Sorry can't tell you about the other im sure someone will.

Well my honest opinion is 1750KG of van with an auto box is pushing it to say the least.

Lots of posts on here about the auto box so grab a cuppa and a pack of biscuits and start reading.

No your van is too heavy and the Jatco auto box is at the limit for the Galaxy alone.

An oil cooler would be essential is you choose to proceed, dont know if anyone does this.

Look at the plate on your vehicle....it will give the maximum vehicle weight and the gross train weight.

The maximum towing weight is the difference between them.

This is what the cops will look at first if you get stopped.

My mk1 90bhp Tdi is 1530kg.

NO

"will the auto box be under too mush strain"

Should be ok....if you don't exceed maximum towing limit.
