Hi all,

Just a general question about the MkIII diesel, I recently took delivery of my 2.0TDCI Ghia and have noticed that the glow plug light only stays on for a fraction of a second. You litterly turn on the ignition and as all the lights on the dials 'test' and go out the glow plug light goes out at practically the same time. I recently had an '07 Focus 1.8TDCI and the glow plug light extinguished after 3-6 seconds after turning on the ignition on a cold start (6 seconds if it was very cold).

Am I just being paranoid by thinking something is wrong with it or have they just improved the system to next to no warm up time now?

All round an excellent car and very impressed

You're right Farr ..... I have the 2.2 engine in mine and like you say the glow plug light goes out along with the rest of the test indications shortly after you go to position 2 on the ignition switch. I think if it was cold enough you would see an extended "light on" period. Edited by Bleeno

Im sure this has been mentioned before somewhere on here (i might be wrong  ) the answer was the same it went out very quickly too. This must be normal.
