amjad karim Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Hi Guys, I bought my Galaxy (2001 Ghia TDI) yesterday but unfortunately it did not come with an owners handbook. I have managed to buy one on ebay as I was told by ford that they could not sell me one as the Old galaxy is now obsolete?????? Can some one please tell me how mush air I should be putting into the tyres on my 16 inch alloys. This is my first MPV, as untill now I have always driven a saloon but as we all know there comes a time in your life where you have to start realising you have one too many kids for a saloon car........... Thanks in advance Quote
Tony Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 HiShould be a label on either drivers or front passenger door post giving tyre pressures. Quote
chromedome Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 If yours is a MK2 the pressures should be on a label on the A pillar below the door latch. From memory, because I'm too lazy to go search for my handbook, they are 41psi all round normal load. Quote
amjad karim Posted April 17, 2008 Author Report Posted April 17, 2008 Thanks for the info guys Amjad Quote
cowboyasterix Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Depending of tyres size: eg. 195/60/16: up to 3 person-front: 3.2 bar, rear: 2.9 bar max load (over 3 person), front: 3.3 bar, rear: 3.6 bar If not this size u have got what size have you? Iwill try to help you :P cheers Quote
stevie m Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 When i had my mkII i use to put 40psi all round but found that they use to go a touch bald in the middle. I reduced it to 38 psi and i got even wear, but the car wasn't used that much for heavy loads. I had dunlop 2020e all round (215/55HR16s) if thats any help to you. :) Quote
amjad karim Posted April 19, 2008 Author Report Posted April 19, 2008 Thanks again for the info guys, I have the same tyre size as you Stevie, just another question do I need to replace tyres with Reinforced ones or not and how do i check to see if the current ones are reinforced. thanks Quote
chromedome Posted April 19, 2008 Report Posted April 19, 2008 Yes you must have reinforced or extra load tyres fitted for safety reasons, it's a heavy car. You should find the wording on the wall of the tyre. Quote
