Hi

Just recently bought my second ford galaxy 1.9tdi ghia 2004 (used) from a well known car dealership. Drove the car for about a week and a number of faults developed. These faults included repeated power loss on acceleration, black smoke from underneath car, noises from engine when I turn the ignition off after driving and also faulty central locking. I have sinced returned the car to the dealer. They have been unable to find any faults! At my request the car was then transferred to a rival companies ford dealership. They have since discovered a number of fault codes.

P1557 - PCM Boost pressure control valve - Over control limit

P1570 - PCM Key unrecognised. PCM identification was not recognised by the PATS module.

P1672 - PCM Engine cooling fan relay open/short circuit to ground.

0x214 - 87 - RCM Supply voltage. Signal too small.

0x20E - 9C - TCM Brake switch. Short circuit to positive.

U2010 - PATS Module is not responding.

0x29C - 07 - FFH Power supply (unswitched). Signal too small.

Can anyone please advise me as to what all of the above means? At the moment I am trying to reject this car and hand it back to the dealer, but they claim that I should allow them to fix any fault? Any advice would be good. I bought the car 3 weeks ago. Drove it for 7 days and the dealership has had the car for the last 14 days.

'Promises Delivered' I don't think so!!!!

Give trading standards a buzz, your statutory rights have quite obviously been infringed as the car is not "fit for purpose".
