turn the key towards the boot release and then turn again - cant remember which is the dead lock though (once or twic) but you will hear it again (slightly different sound) Edited by NikpV

unlikely to be an immobiliser problem! the immobiliser does just that it stops the engine from running it doesnt set off the alarm! to do that you either have to open a door, the bonnet, the rear hatch or disturb the ultasonic sensors, no where in the oe fitted alarm info can I see a voltage sensor mentioned!

My galaxy kept doing this - lock car with keyfob and alarm goes off after 20 mins. I diconnected the ultrasonic sensor in the drivers side B pillar and no more problems with alarm going off since. Sensors are not armed straight away - I believe there is time delay so you walk away thing everything ok and hey presto alarm goes off 20 mins later.
