Heckel Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I am considering buying an 07 Galaxy 2.0TDCI Ghia with manual gearbox. I cover a lot of motorway miles and wanted to know what kind of MPG I'm likely to get. Quote
Nick Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I had a run yesterday M5 Bristol to Exeter return - 39mpg Quote
Heckel Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 Thanks for the info. 39mpg seems quite low given that the extra urban figures quoted by Ford are in the low 50's, were you canning it! Quote
Nick Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 Na, I'm running it in! It's not loose yet. There was Friday traffic each end. I varried the speed from 55 to 85. Quote
stevie m Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 I would have thought 45-50 mph would have been more realistic ? My mkII is good on the diesel as long as i stay less than 70mph on the motorway go above and it still return ok. I'm up and down the motorway every day apart from sunday. Ok mine is only 1.9 but it has loosened up a little (162000 miles) and although that is a 2.0 it is newer, i'm surprised. Quote
belleyetere Posted January 27, 2008 Report Posted January 27, 2008 hi all.My galaxy was showing 41mpg this is the trip set when collected from dealer. I reset it today and on the motorway doing 60-70mph I was getting 54mpg reading dropping to 50mpg up hills. Quote
mustangrules Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 HiI bought my 2007 2.0 tdci ghia x pack last march and have now put an order in for a new one expected this march. in the time i have had mine the worst i have had in fuel consumption is around 39mpg that is mainley combined driving the best i have had at 70mph motorway driving is 52mpg. if you havent bought your car yet you might want to consider mine as it will be part exchanged this march against my new one!! my car is pretty much fully loaded and is in showroom condition with just 6000miles on the clock.let me know if your interested and i will give you the full speck.regards mark. mk3nick Posted February 1, 2008 Report Posted February 1, 2008 It would seem fuel ecconomy has been raised on the 2.0 TDCi for some time - check out the treads on the new Mondeo forums. Quote
Charlie2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 If I drive mine carefully, that is tag onto trucks, keep to 60ish etc, I can average 59 on a trip from Nottingham to Croydon.Drive like an idiot and I get way less than 30!Round town is good though, usually 28 to 33mpg Quote
