Nick Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Posted January 14, 2008 Yep, most helpful  . At least it gave the respondents a laugh on a wet sunday afternoon. I think I'll drive it like a stole it! Quote
Saif Rehman Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Nick, i'm sure that the days of running an engine are long gone - just drive it as though you had it for a while (as long as you don't redline it)! I thought modern engines nowadays are put through their paces before being installed into vehicles? Quote
Jed Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 I just drove mine normally Nick. The dealer didn't say anything about running in although there is something in the manual about taking it easy for the first 1000 miles I think. I guess as long as you dont rag it you should be ok. Are you pleased with the new motor then. Am still pretty chuffed with mine. Quote
Nick Posted January 17, 2008 Author Report Posted January 17, 2008 Oh yes, it's the dogs dangly bits! Very smooth and first impressions are the build quality is high. As regards running in I'm short shifting and easy braking. Having said that, in 6th it's less the 3k rpm at 90. Pics and more discussion to come, once I've read the books! Quote

Im shocked!!..you are actually going to read the manuals?? bloody hell, a man who reads the manual..gotta be a first ;) Quote
Charlie2008 Posted February 4, 2008 Report Posted February 4, 2008 I wouldn't bother with the manual, I was looking above the sunvisors for the rear quarter window switches for days until I realised it was wrong!!Like you said earlier, Nick "drive it like you stole it" I did and it goes great. The hours it's spent at my local dealer have all been for non-engine related faults! Quote
