Which Engine

Hi all, I have a 2.0i glx galaxy done 140000+ mile now she getting a little tired, I am concidering changing the engine and box over. What other ford engine would fit the same as the original a deisel one anyway and advice would be grateful.

140,000 miles is nothing, should be good for half that again on the engine and twice that on the box.

 

The only realistic engine change would be for another 2.0l petrol.

 

It would be much cheaper to replace the vehicle than to go down the diesel route.

 

If you are unhappy with it sell it and buy another it works out cheaper.

don't even think about swaping engines from another ford unless its a 2l galaxy. the old scorpio was the same engine in 8v guise but dont fit as well as the gearbox must be a vw vtx75.

i got a gal 2l thinking ill deisel it up and once i read into it and done all the checking up about it i changed my mind pronto. your engine has tons of life left in it i sold mine with 200k on clock and all it needed was a set of hydraulic tappets in her. one thing i did find was to use 15w40 semi synthetic oil it ran much better.
