Hi guys and gal's just would like to know if my vehicle has a secondary air pump it is a 2.3 petrol galaxy auto circa 1998 vintage , basically i thought that it was using to much fuel and got the emmisions checked and its running rich, not hugely, but rich anyway, thought that i remembered that there was a common fault on this vehicle, had a search and can find a few pic's but i cant find it on the car, so dont know if i have one and its put out of the way (ie inner wing) or i don't have one and i'm barking up the wrong tree many thanks, Topbloke ps also need to know where (if fitted) the fuse/ relay is

They stopped fitting them in last quarter of 1997.

Its a black cylinder type thingy mounted between the battery and block (just in front and right of the coolant bottle, and has a 2" dia hose connected to the exhaust manifold. The fuse and relays are in the aux fuse box (behind battery). but I don't think you'll have them, when faulty the emissions HC is normal but the CO is high.

If your running a little rich then it's probably the lamda/air filter or possibly the MAF.
