BSteenkamp Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I have just bought a Ford Galaxy 1996 2.0 TDi. The driver door doesn't want to remain completely shut. When closing, it returns to that half-locked/open state (ie not open but also not closed completely). Trying a number of times eventually works, but I would like to fix it. Any ideas? The other doors are fine, just this driver-side door giving trouble. I've tried closing it softly, which increases the success-rate, but still not ideal (ie 100%). Opening the window (in case it's a pressure thing) also doesn't help. Any help appreciated. Quote
mrchipz Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I had exactly the same problem with mine. I got around it by adjusting the catch on the door pillar that the door closes to. Mine was quite warn. Just slacken off the torx bolts and move the catch about 1mm or so further into the car and re tighten. You may have to adjust a few times to get the thing to work right. I got mine fixed so persevere. Quote
MadBaz Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I tried various solutions to fix mine, only cure was a new lock mechanism, iirc Quote
