Mine's been doing this for some time now even after changing the glowplugs and the glowplug relay. Quote
stevie m Posted January 15, 2008 Author Report Posted January 15, 2008 I still don't know the cause. Nobody seems to want to help . Quote
Bigjeeze Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Mine does it too on occasions - I think as has been posted it would make sense to check the wiring loom of for the Glowplugs at the engine end. Apparently it goes under the rocker cover and sometimes causes problems. Quote
El Dingo Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 Maybe OP could post in technical? Might get some answers there. Mods, please move the post! Sorry I can't help. I thought all diesels did that. Perhaps it's a virus? After all, coughs and sneezles bring diseasels. Quote
skippy 2 Posted January 22, 2008 Report Posted January 22, 2008 I always thought it was to do with the choke when the engine is cold or don't these motors have that kind of thing anymore. Mine does sort of sound a bit rough on starting especially if it is cold outside what do you reckon? Quote
stevie m Posted January 26, 2008 Author Report Posted January 26, 2008 (edited) Well guys i have finally found out the problem so i thought i would update this post. I bought a new clutch, flywheel and concentric slave cylinder and had them fitted and my starting and running problems have gone (well almost but i will get to that in a minute). The dual mass flywheel was causing all the problems due to it's movement. It was playing havoc with the cam sensor which was then making the car run rough. Now the new problem (will i ever get this car sorted) since the flywheel has stopped making it's noise i have found another one. A tensioner is rattling until the car gets warm and i need to replace my alternator lead and fuse box, door mirror and window strips. Oh i nearly forgot. I would like to say thank you to everyone who took an interest in this post and replyed to it. I hope any problems you may have i may be able to help. Your friend Stevie.m Stevie I take it you already had the flywheel recall done and it was the recall repair flywheel which was faulty? Can you tell me how much it was to get all that work done? Quote
stevie m Posted January 27, 2008 Author Report Posted January 27, 2008 Hello mate. No i could not have a flywheel recall as my galaxy was built just before the dates of the recall so i had to pay for it myself. Flywheel trade from gsf Quote
